Workplace Well-being Week: Aesio’s Perspective
We spoke with Laëtitia FAURE, the QWL Manager at Aesio Mutuelle, for whom we conducted a workshop in June 2023. And we’ll be returning in 2024! Find out why Laëtitia loves and recommends our Yogist workshops in this Q&A.
In what context did you use the YOGIST – Well At Work workshops?
Response from Laëtitia FAURE:
This took place during Workplace Well-Being Week, which was held last June (2023, Ed.). This year, we decided to spread the event over three weeks instead of just one. We organized four key events:
- inform
- inspire
- unite
- prevent
It was in this final section, “Prevention,” that Yogist came into play.
What were your company's goals or needs at that time that Yogist could address?
Response from Laëtitia FAURE:
These needs were identified in the comprehensive risk assessment document. A sedentary lifestyle and musculoskeletal disorders are the primary medium- and long-term concerns among our employees. The goal was to quickly establish healthy habits, and we were able to provide our employees with the opportunity to participate in workshops.
The idea for them is to establish a routine. So, we gave them a few exercises that are fairly easy to do on their own. At the end of these weeks dedicated to QWL, we immediately wanted to work with Yogist again, in order to sustain the process and empower our employees.
“For us, this was clearly an opportunity to get our employees moving, as we believe that a sedentary lifestyle is truly one of the major problems in our industries.”
How did you hear about Yogist, and why did you decide to use our services?
Response from Laëtitia FAURE:
We first heard about Yogist from an employee, who thought it would be interesting to try it out at our company. So, in June 2022, he conducted a trial with a small group of employees.
The feedback was positive, so this year I decided to expand the program to all employees by offering three workshops during Quality of Life at Work Week. For us, this was clearly an opportunity to get our employees moving, as we believe that a sedentary lifestyle is truly one of the major problems in our industry.
How did employees react to the Yogist method?
Response from Laëtitia FAURE:
I assessed the impact of the Yogist workshop on our employees primarily through the satisfaction survey conducted at the end of the session.
Yogist’s session was very well received! Overall satisfaction with the three workshops was very high. It’s clear that all employees enjoyed these workshops and found them a great way to get moving
Based on the verbatim responses I was able to extract from the questionnaire, I noted that:
- It's a moment of relaxation
- That's interesting
- It's good for both the body and the mind
- It would be nice to have more of them
This last point, which came up quite often, is the focus of our planning for 2024. We therefore hope to make this initiative a permanent feature, rather than just a one-off campaign like the one we ran during Quality of Life at Work Week.
Since Yogist’s session, we’ve made the digital guide available for participants who want to practice on their own. We realized that employees experienced the session as a brief wellness break at the time. They haven’t yet developed the habit of practicing on their own. So, we’re going to offer 30-minute workshops twice a month: a shorter format that fits into their schedules, is more regular, and offers more variety. We hope this will help them go beyond that brief wellness break.
Were there any specific aspects of Yogist’s program that your employees particularly appreciated?
Response from Laëtitia FAURE:
We appreciated everything: the work on the neck, eyes, wrists, lower back… everything was covered during the hour; it was truly comprehensive. During these three workshops, we asked the instructor to vary the themes so that those attending all three could work on different exercises each time.
Would you recommend Yogist’s services to other companies looking for ways to improve their employees’ well-being? Why?
Response from Laëtitia FAURE:
One of Yogist’s strongest selling points is that it requires no equipment or special gear: you can do it right at your desk, in your chair. That’s largely why the workshop was such a success. Plus, the exercises are pretty simple to do and replicate. The practice is quick: if we both take two minutes to breathe and tune into ourselves, we can easily relax and relieve any tension we might have built up during the day in our necks, lower backs, and so on.
We tried Yogist, and it worked, so we’re sticking with it for 2024!
