Testimonial from Émilie, a wellness and workplace well-being coach in Bordeaux and a Well At Work facilitator trained by YOGIST

Émilie is part of the 10th class at the Yogist Academy. She tells us what she’s gained from Yogist’s training program to become a facilitator of workshops on stress management and the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace.

Émilie, can you tell us about what you do?

Émilie's response:

After the COVID-19 pandemic, I launched my career as a Workplace Well-being Consultant for businesses. I also teach at universities, training organizations, and naturopathy schools. My third profession is as a therapist, so I help my clients manage stress and build self-confidence.

I chose to train with Yogist because I wanted to help companies prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This aligned perfectly with my goal of growing my business.

Why did you choose Yogist in particular?

Émilie's response:

I chose Yogist because of its down-to-earth approach. I’ve always really liked the approach because it’s very business-oriented, and it’s grounded in practicality: we don’t talk about chakras, and there are no yoga mats. This really resonates with me; it allows me to work closely with companies and support my clients in managing stress and the various physical ailments that employees may experience.

I chose the Yogist method because it complements my other practices. What sets it apart is that it engages both the body and the mind as a whole, since we’ll begin with relaxation, we’ll focus, and we’ll guide the entire group in front of us toward this awareness, this realization that by returning to three breaths and assuming a specific posture we’ll suggest, they’ll be able to work their shoulders, relax their neck muscles, and engage their eyes and eye muscles in a different way.

My background in the IT services sector means I often interact with people in the tech industry who have little to no connection to the body. So it was a challenge to raise their awareness.

I especially like the vocabulary used in the Yogist method—the whole range of meanings. “We take five minutes to pause, for both our minds and our bodies.”

I’m a consultant, but I’m also a reflexologist. So I work one-on-one with people through touch. The Yogist method allows me to engage with groups and understand this mind-body connection as a whole. Above all, it gives me a framework for managing stress and supporting teams in creating breaks and managerial rituals that are a little different—and which I believe are truly relevant today.

What did you like about the Yogist training program?

Émilie's response:

I enjoyed the practice, and really understanding why Anne-Charlotte chose those specific exercises and what they’re for. I tend to focus a bit too much on the “big picture.” Thanks to the training, I’ll be able to explain even to the most logical person that if they assume a certain position at a given moment, it works a specific part of the body. And since we’re working with the body, we can then stimulate the nervous system and move toward relaxation. These are concepts they aren’t familiar with, so it’s interesting. Thanks to the Yogist training, I have the words to convince even the most rational people.

“I liked the explanation of why it stretches, why it strengthens, and what benefits it can bring to the person in front of me.”

Personally, I’m very creative, so I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with the “fireballs” when I play Dragon Ball Z! That way, I can add a touch of humor, because that’s how I work. Plus, I love having lots of ideas up my sleeve to share with my clients.
