Françoise, a sophrologist, shares her thoughts on the Yogist Well at Work training program

Françoise is a graduate of the 9th class of our training program for facilitators of workshops on stress management and the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace. She tells us how Yogist has enhanced her work as a sophrologist.

Françoise, can you tell us about what you do?

Françoise's response:

I have been a sophrologist for four years. Before that, I was the human resources manager at a manufacturing plant.

I came across Yogist by chance while networking and building my professional connections. I took the plunge this year by training in this method, and I’m really glad I did.

Why did you choose Yogist in particular?

Françoise's response:

I was really drawn to the Yogist method because it’s pragmatic, focused on concrete, immediate action, and free of frills; individuals take responsibility for themselves—they’re the ones who take action to feel better.

What’s particularly interesting about this method is that we’re directly addressing the individual’s working conditions. We target the various areas affected by a sedentary lifestyle.

I agree that it’s very practical and accessible. You don’t have to be athletic; you just need to be mindful of how you sit and regularly adjust your posture so that, over time, you feel better physically and, as a result, mentally.

“You don’t have to be athletic; you just need to be aware of how you position yourself.”

How do you incorporate the Yogist method into your work?

Françoise's response:

Today, I work with companies, nonprofit organizations, occupational health services, and the medical community.

In addition to sophrology, I offer this method for preventing musculoskeletal disorders. This is because the workplace—and indeed our daily lives—need it, as we are becoming increasingly sedentary.

Very recently, I was contacted to lead a workshop at the police station in the city where I work. I was asked to facilitate a “Sleep and Recovery” workshop. In addition to sophrology, I suggested this Yogist method. It was a huge success! It was interesting to address two areas: rest and relaxation, and awakening and energization.

How did you connect your profession with the Yogist method?

Françoise's response:

When I worked as a human resources manager at a manufacturing plant, we had no choice but to be pragmatic, because that’s the reality of day-to-day operations at a manufacturing plant. It’s all about “action and reaction.” Everything I implemented back then, I chose because it was deeply pragmatic. Moreover, it held individuals accountable.

“When I first learned about the Well at Work® method by Yogist, it clicked right away! It’s perfectly tailored to the needs of individuals within an organization—whether that’s a workplace, a nonprofit, or a personal setting.”
