As a business executive, I am training in the YOGIST method
Armelle, the CEO of a digital marketing company and now a “MASTER YOGIST,” talks about her experience at Yogist Academy
Who are you?
My name is Armelle and I live in Rennes. I’m a digital marketing and digital strategy consultant, working primarily with small and medium-sized businesses and startups.
What is the purpose of the training for you?
I was really looking forward to attending the Yogist Academy training, because I’ve been following Anne-Charlotte’s journey in creating Yogist for about two years now—I even bought her book! I also saw that the Yogist Academy had been awarded an Ocean Blue certification. What really interested me was seeing that Yogist genuinely aims to improve quality of life at work through chair yoga. This yoga is simple, practical, corporate-friendly, and chakra-free. It truly helps with stress, concentration, and pain, especially for people who spend a lot of time in front of screens and in static, seated positions.
All of this really interested me—both personally, because, like everyone else, I’ve grown weary of this situation—and also in the digital world, where I saw the value in working on digital detox and improving working conditions. So my goal is to share this training because it offers so many benefits!
What exactly do you want to do with this training?
I think actually practicing it is really, really important. Having the book is one thing, but when you experience it in real life—with a whole group of learners, spending two very intensive days together, going through, breaking down, and analyzing every exercise—it really makes you want to practice it every day. So, I think you’re convincing when you’re convinced yourself, and when you really know your stuff. I find the Yogist method very accessible, so first, I’m going to apply it to myself, see the benefits, and make it part of my routines! And the next step will be to offer it to different clients who are experiencing these same office-related aches and pains. Consequently, I can definitely see myself offering it, because it’s a way to help them feel better. And it will be a meaningful addition to my services!
How did you hear about YOGIST?
I first came across Yogist online. Since I’m a yoga practitioner by trade, I was already practicing it regularly. One day, I stumbled upon the topic and found it very interesting from a conceptual analysis perspective. I found the website and saw the value in digitizing the service with the chatbot, which can step in to suggest personalized exercises. So, I thought the concept, right down to its digital implementation, was well-designed. And I watched all the videos!
What did you like best about the training?
First of all, the group was very open and engaged, which I found very pleasant. I really liked the “immersive” aspect, because we were so absorbed in the subject. But also the training methodology, which was both simple and highly structured—we learned step by step. I really liked the workshop approach; we don’t just passively absorb physical knowledge, since this is an approach to physical well-being in the office. I also really liked the very practical aspect of the workshop debriefing.
A quick note for anyone thinking about signing up?
First of all, I’d say—depending on who’s asking—that this training isn’t just for yoga teachers. I’m not a yoga teacher, even though I practice almost every day. It’s actually intended for many people in a professional setting who are aware of the issue and want to do something good for themselves, as well as share the method and contribute to workplace well-being—through quality of life at work and the corporate aspect, which we tend to overlook, since we’re so focused on the mental side. And I think that’s great, because it specifically works on the physical body to free the mind and relieve stress. So, it’s truly a gift you can give to people!
What is the YOGIST method in a nutshell?
It’s a very practical and well-thought-out method that helps us maintain good posture at work andincorporate physical activities—at the start or end of the day—in a discreet way. It’s truly a concept that goes so far as to help you adopt these rituals and make them part of your daily life. It’s not something you’ll just leave in a drawer; it’s truly an accessible method, perfectly suited to the corporate world!
